FIX. TEXTILES. POSTCARD EXHIBITION. STITCHING TOGETHER. WORKSHOPS.

FLOAT is hosting stitchy / sashiko / repair / re-use / workshops, conversations, and stitching sessions throughout the East Gippsland Winter Festival. Every Monday for sure. But lots of other sessions at the slipway throughout the festival month.

FIX: We are calling on artists to create TEXTILE postcards
that reflect our love of stitching and circular economies. repair. re-use. recycle. re-jig.
Subject theme and stitch style is open. Checkout http://www.float3909.com/fix for your inspiration.

  • FIX postcards must measure NO BIGGER than 15 x 20 cm / 6 X 8 inch (smaller is ok)

  • All work must be created on fabric – so please think about recycling, re-using, repairing.

  • Work will be displayed using magnets on scaffold – so feel free to leave hems / space around your design.

  • You may enter up to 4 pieces of work.

  • Entry fee is $5 per postcard.  It helps us pay the rent.  Commission (retained by FLOAT) on sales is 20%

  • Please attach to each artwork:  Artist name / Title / Selling Price (that includes FLOAT’s 20% )

  • Be sure to enclose each artwork in a brown paper bag (or similar) with your name on it.

  • (We can supply brown paper bags at the Slipway when you deliver your entries).

NOTE

·       20% of your sale price goes to FLOAT Inc

·       Your artworks can be delivered any day between now and when the exhibition closes 18 July 2025 .

·       We expect the show to grow every day, as stitchers discover the space, and visit workshops and make.

·       Collect all unsold work by 1 August 2025

·       Artists will be paid on 14 August 2025.

FLOAT will take the best care of all work, but the artist is responsible for Insurance of their own work.
