Far East Flaneur is an art + nature trail experience that takes us from the Tav @ Lake Tyers Beach to Sailors Grave @ Cape Conran. Dawdling 100km at our leisure. With artists + nature lovers.
5 Night / 6 Day. Monday 26 October – Friday 30 October, 2026.
Depart Cape Conran any time Saturday 31 October. Far East Gippsland.
(with a little bit of wriggle room for those who need to arrive a bit early or stay a bit longer - by arrangement + booking with local accommodation providers).
ART + NATURE WALK / PADDLE / CYCLE / REST
A 5-night / 6-day far-east adventure for a dozen or so travelling nature lovers / wanderers / FLANEURS (you!).
Supported by our best local tour operators. Travelling with the (fab) FLOAT team of artists, bird watchers, nature journallers and storytellers.
The folk who love to share this region and its precious story of forests and coasts and everything in-between.
Culminating at East Gippsland’s most beautiful far east wild nature destination - Cape Conran - with a famous little craft beer en route at Sailor’s Grave Brewing @ Dunetown. Via lakes, gorges, forests, rivers, campsites and cosy cabins and tons of stories shared in wide open spaces.

* Some Flaneurs might want to arrive at Lakes Entrance the day before we start our journey ( on Sunday 25 October ) to meet the FLOAT crew at Iceworks Studio for fruit + coffee + cake, and share an arts-filled afternoon with FLOAT Founders Gary Yelen + Josephine Jakobi + Andrea Lane.
(Also meet the film makers @ Story.Craft Productions who will be documenting the FLOAT / Far East Flaneur story while we travel ).

The experience is grounded in the CREATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP that FLOAT is built on. All participants will be equipped with their own NATURE JOTTING satchel that will help them look, listen, snap, and scribble their en-route notes and pix.
Our stories will eventually save Far East Gippsland for everyone, and engage a new generation in an alternative future for our forests and our communities.
