We also have special event paddles - such as the BURNT BRIDGE PICNIC PADDLE and the FULL MOON PADDLE which were truly magical.

Our community is diverse and made up of local Lake Tyers permanent and semi-permanent residents and also many from the wider East Gippsland area and beyond.
The group initially started as an art based project and the focal point of this has been the FLOAT art studio which is permanently moored on the lake. However, the group has grown into so much more, embracing the arts, the environment and community. Because Lake Tyers is so central to everything we do, kayaking has always been a part of FLOAT activities.
The Paddle club has evolved over the last year into quite a strong group, and continues to grow. We like exploring Lake Tyers and meeting up with people who love to do the same. We are growing because we are a non-threatening, non-competitive, group who are open to people joining in and participating and having a go ... and we have lots of fun.
We have created a regular paddle schedule of 9.30am on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month.
We create our events on the FLOAT3909 public page and then share and promote on the other FLOAT group pages. FLOAT ART @LTB and FLOAT LAKE LOVE.
There is usually a lot of discussion where the entire event is planned out ...who's coming, who needs to borrow equipment, who's transporting it etc.
PADDLE VICTORIA MEMBERSHIP & INSURANCE
FLOAT Paddle Club is now officially affiliated with Paddle Victoria, which is the state body for this sport.
This is a big step forward for us as a group and is very exciting. We hope you’ll become a MEMBER now for 2019/2020.
This membership is important as it will cover us all for PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE - and open up other opportunities and support.
Please note that it will be necessary for all of our paddlers (regular and semi regular and not very regular) as without it you will not be covered for water based activities.
FLOAT Paddle Club is all about lowering the barriers to participation and ask anyone having trouble with the membership side of things to come and see us and we will assist you in any way we can.
