DAY 1. MONDAY 26 OCTOBER

Meet at Lake Tyers Beach Tavern @ around 10am. Welcome to Gunaikurnai Country - in Far East Gippsland - and meet our local artists, community leaders, poets, storytellers and nature lovers.
The Tav crew are opening specially for us with great coffee + croissants and a group check-in so we know more about you and the day ahead!
Start dawdling with (a local guide) to Lake Tyers House along the lake edge. Easy walk along this Ramsar-listed gem.
We travel in small walking groups at the pace you enjoy. Admire the view. And the sounds. (of birds of course).
4.5km to Lake Tyers House for a picnic lunch in this special place.
LAKE TYERS HOUSE
‘Lake Tyers House was built in 1886 as a guest house, attracting nature lovers from far and wide. The owners invite us to share the isolated beauty of this special place.’ Sue Goding. It’s a unique story that few know about.
ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Callan Green + Lindsay Le Gros from Green Studio tell us more about our plans for handmade pop-up Flaneur Shelters made by them. Just for us.
The afternoon’s art + conversation is led by Green Studio (Callan + Lindsay). Local Architects / designers / woodworkers. A conversation among us all about making ephemeral homes in wild locations. They’ll tell us more about their plans for handmade pop-up Flaneur Shelters made by them. Just for us.

Our wild mentors @ Up the Creek will join us to Kayak an easy 2.5km to Trident Arm Wilderness Campground, with locals who treasure this place. Pitch tents. Flop.
Chef prepared dinner.
6 minute FROTH stories shared around the campfire. Or curl up in your tent.

DAY 2. TUESDAY 27 OCTOBER

Wake at Trident Arm and share a help-yourself-breakfast with us all. (delivered by water taxi + lovely locals)

Kayak 7.5 km to Cameron’s Arm campground.
Another fab picnic lunch, yep, simple but shared and curated by local artists (food is art).
Lunch is curated and delivered by Josephine Jakobi and Green Studio. We camp on the lawn and invite families from the Lake Tyers Aboriginal Trust to tell their stories.

ARTIST IN RESIDENCE
Angharad Neal Williams will be travelling with us all week - nature journalling, mapping, and telling us how she came to illustrate the Far East Flaneur brand that has made regenerative tourism groovy again. Jotting pads and wattle charcoal made by Josephine Jakobi are supplied for those who like to jot. (Some of us just like to watch + listen).

Next stop. Nowa Nowa.
Afternoon Kayak 10.5km to Mingling Waters caravan park. (paddling alongside Mike Ryan, the guy who created this iconic (and beautiful ) cluster of handmade cabins.
Flop. With hot showers, comfy beds, stunning flop stop.
Chef prepared dinner. Rinaldo is an artist who lives in Nowa Nowa - and loves this gig.
Artist talk/do. Meet Angharad NW – our illustrator from the beginning. & Bert Spinks our poetic storytelling hiker and birdwatcher.
Nothing too serious. Just mingling with nice people.


DAY 3. WEDNESDAY 28 OCTOBER

Help-yourself-breakfast at Nowa Nowa alongside the Lake. Before we e-bike 38km to Orbost (with morning tea breaks along the way).
Lunch is a treat at Orbost Art Centre with local artists and pioneering forest lovers and environmental heroes.
Relaxo bus 18km to Corringle slips wilderness campground. Pitch tents. Flop. Camp dinner.

DAY 4. THURSDAY 29 OCTOBER

Day 4 – Breakfast self serve from supplied ingredients. First Nations weaving session with Corringle Creators. Picnic lunch. Kayak 1.1km to Marlo. Hike 1.2kms along foreshore to Marlo Ocean views caravan park. Pitch tents. Flop. Dinner at Marlo Hotel.

Comfy camp + campfire  at Marlo.


DAY 5. FRIDAY 30 OCTOBER

Breakfast self serve from supplied ingredients. Hike 8.5km (morning tea break midway) to Point Ricardo. Picnic lunch. Minibus or Hike 8km to West Cape Cabins. Flop. Bus 8km to Sailors Grave Brewery for Dinner and stories. Bus return to West Cape Cabins.

Best stay at West Cape – mix of options: Homestead rooms. (I pp room/no sharing?ß). Bus House. Salmon Rocks  posh cabin. Good inTentions. Discuss


DAY 6. SATURDAY 1 NOVEMBER


Departure day.

Breakfast self serve from supplied ingredients. Flop, art,  or local bush-walk. Self serve lunch from supplied ingredients. Bus 17km to Marlo to connect with V-line coach departing 2.26pm arriving at Lake Tyers 3.39pm.
