Far East Flaneur is an art + nature trail experience that will take us from the Slipway Sheds at Lakes Entrance to Dunetown (Sailors Grave Brewing), Cape Conran.
15 – 21 March, 2026.


ART + NATURE WALK / PADDLE / CYCLE / RAFT / AFTER PARTY

A week-long, far-east adventure for 16 travelling nature lovers / wanderers / flaneurs (you!). Supported by our best local tour operators. Travelling with the (fab) FLOAT team of artists, bird watchers, nature journalers and storytellers. The folk who love to share this region and its precious story of forests and coasts and everything in-between. Culminating at East Gippsland’s most exciting craft beer and wild nature destination - Sailor’s Grave Brewing @ Dunetown.

Via Lake Tyers (Bung Yarnda) > The Tav > Lake Tyers House > Rules Point > Mingling Waters (Nowa Nowa) > East Gippsland Rail Trail > Orbost Art + Orbost Rainforest Centre> Snowy River > Corringle Creators > Marlo > Dunetown, Cape Conran > West Cape

We’ll walk, dawdle, draw, listen, laugh, kayak, cycle and SUP. (with back-up lifts whenever we wear out.)

Day 2. Monday 16 March.
Lake Tyers Beach Tavern to Lake Tyers House (walk)

Day 3. Tuesday. 17 March.
Lake Tyers House to Nowa Nowa (kayak)

Day 4. Wednesday. 18 March.
Nowa Nowa to Orbost then Corringle (cycle + bus)

Day 5. Thursday. 19 March.
Corringle Creators to Marlo + West Cape

Day 6. Friday 20 March.
Flop at West Cape. Walk the Yeerung.

Day 7. Saturday 21 March.
West Cape. Dunetown. FROTH PARTY

There's only room for 16 of us en route - but EVERYONE can join the Dunetown FROTH afterparty on SATURDAY 21 MARCH to celebrate this launch of our Far East Gippsland destination). Watch this space for tickets.

THE ART OF THE FLANEUR

The experience is grounded in the CREATIVE ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP that FLOAT is built on. All participants will be equipped with their own NATURE JOTTING satchel that will help them look, listen, snap, and scribble their en-route notes and pix from which we will assemble and install a pop-up gallery + zine created by our flaneurs.

The journey culminates at Sailor’s Grave Brewing / Dunetown (Cape Conran) – where you can camp on after we’re done if you feel like it.. Flaneurs will be mingling with some of Australia's leading voices for regenerative place makers and sustainability influencers over the final weekend.

NOTE: This journey will converge with FLOAT’s 4th Feral MBA (closing weekend) - at Dunetown, Cape Conran.
