Gippsland Solar are proud to support the FLOAT project at Lake Tyers. As a local business, with a strong passion for both our environment and the local region, Gippsland Solar is always happy to support any project that makes the community richer and more engaged. FLOAT is a prime example of what our region does best, creating a community project with social and environmental benefits, made possible by the passion and enthusiasm of the local community.
Gippsland Solar, along with its suppliers and partners, are teaming up to donate a 4kW off-grid solar power system for the FLOAT vessel. The total value of this system is in excess of $25,000, so it has been a huge effort by all involved, to bring this project to fruition. Gippsland Solar are contributing a significant amount of the system cost, and providing their expertise for installation, while also assisting with fundraising for the remainder of the project.
Using the latest technology and battery storage, the FLOAT vessel will be able to run all of their electrical requirements without relying heavily on a generator or grid electricity. Not only will this eliminate most of the ongoing running costs, but it will set a great example for the community on how to operate this vitally important project without any impact on the environment that is critical to our current and future prosperity.
